Exploring TEDDY’s Contribution in Paediatric Research Through Its Publications
TEDDY – Task-force in Europe for the Drug Development for the Young, which started in 2005 under the European Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) as a Network of Excellence (TEDDY NoE), has been committed since its inception to promoting paediatric research. In 2017, TEDDY became an independent research organisation and today TEDDY – European Network of Excellence for Paediatric Clinical Research is a member of ACT-EU, ENCePP, Enpr-EMA and EPTRI. Over the past 20 years, TEDDY has produced 111 publications that have helped shape the paediatric healthcare by providing valuable insights into child health and disease. You can find TEDDY papers on TEDDY webpage Publications at the following LINK.
TEDDY’s research covers a broad range of interconnected topics, including the development of innovative paediatric therapies, approaches to rare diseases, pharmacoepidemiology, the use of databases and simulations, regulatory frameworks and methodologies, clinical trials addressing therapeutic needs, patient engagement and empowerment, mitigation of off-label uses, and the exploration of ethical issues and children’s rights. In addition, some TEDDY articles are positioned within both the European Union (EU) and United States (US) regulatory contexts, underlining their international relevance.
Together, TEDDY publications form a holistic body of knowledge that supports researchers, clinicians, and policymakers in their efforts to improve paediatric healthcare outcomes worldwide.
The authors behind these publications are key TEDDY resources, with many of them serving on the TEDDY Board of Directors (BoD). For more information about the Board and its members, please visit the TEDDY BoD webpage at the following LINK. Other authors serve as Chairs of the TEDDY Working Groups (WGs), contributing their expertise and leadership to guide the WGs’ research priorities, coordinate collaborative efforts, and act as a fundamental resource for research and the preparation of scientific publications. For more information about TEDDY WGs, please visit the TEDDY BoD webpage at the following LINK.
TEDDY twenty-year commitment represents a solid foundation for future research, aiming to develop new diagnostic approaches, innovative therapies, and intervention strategies that can further improve the lives of young people.
