The INVENTS paeditrac Patient Expert Group (PEG): Empowering Young Patients to Influence Rare Disease Research
As part of the TEDDY General Assembly and Scientific Meeting 2026, taking place on 18 – 20 September 2026 at University of Bari, Italy, Piazza Cesare Battisti, 1, 70121 Bari BA. TEDDY will host a dedicated INVENTS paediatric Patient Expert Group (PEG) parallel session on 19 September 2026, from 14:00 – 15:30 at BaLab room, focusing on the evaluation of innovative research methodologies for small populations.
Within the framework of the European INVENTS project (101136365-HORIZON-HLTH-2023-IND-06-04), TEDDY established the Paediatric Patient Expert Group (PEG) to engage young patients in research activities, enhance their knowledge and training, and involve them in discussions on biomedical research, health data, clinical research methodologies, and issues relevant to paediatric rare diseases.
The parallel session, “Evaluation of Innovative Research Methodologies for Small Populations with Experts and PEG Members,” will bring together young members of the INVENTS PEG and experts to exchange experiences, strengthen knowledge and explore opportunities for meaningful patient involvement in the INVENTS project.
